It's official at last. The much expected Dhanush starrer '3', which marks the directorial debut of his wife Aishwarya, will hit the screens in three different languages (Tamil, Telugu and Hindi) on March 30.

Announcing this to reporters in Chennai Thursday evening, Dhanush's father Kasthuriraja said, "Oscar-winning Resul Pookutty's sound effects will be one of the highlights of the movie. He was so moved after watching it."

Stating that Resul was initially not interested to work in '3', Kasthuriraja added: "But after watching the rushes, he was totally impressed and readily expressed his willingness to be part of the project. His contribution has added immense value to 3."

Expressing hope that the film would click well with the audience, the director-producer said, "Aishwarya is so talented and she would join the big league of directors after the release of 3. She has beautifully made an emotional tale."

Aishwarya Dhanush has made it official that her debut directorial venture ‘3’ will hit theatres on the 12th of April this year.

The film was announced to be released on 3rd February but as there is the restriction that big films can be released only on certain dates in a year the release was postponed.

The film features the song ‘Why this Kolaveri di…’ which took the nation by storm and filmgoers are eagerly waiting to see the visuals for this song in the film.

‘3’ has Dhanush and Shruti Hassan in the lead and Anirudh has scored the music. Velraj has cranked the camera and the film is produced by R K Productions and Wunderbar Films.

According to reports, the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) had announced that big Tamil films should release only on five occasions a year and now has revised this decision due to much persuasion as eight occasions a year. Apparently making best of the delay the makers are dubbing the film in Telugu and Hindi as well.

If '3' manages to live up to the hype in the North it will be an added plus for Dhanush who is working on a full length Hindi feature film, 'Raanjhnaa', being directed by Aanand L. Rai.

'3' marks the debut of Aishwarya Dhanush (Rajinikanth's daughter) and music composer Anirudh and can be rightly called as one of the biggies this year in Kollywood, what with the 'kolaveri' buzz. The on screen romance between Dhanush and Shruti Haasan is alleged to be one of the biggest highlights of the film.
